We have to get the community organized and involved in ensuring our students graduate.
Educating the “whole child” takes rigorous core curriculum, fine arts exploration, social-emotional, character development, and true relationship building.
Safety of our Students Faculty and Staff is key to the overall health of our schools. Addressing the major challenges and our role equals investing in the future of our children. Lack of funding leaves a major void in our schools, thus it is important we continue to work across the isle with legislators in developing a State Wide vision on directing funding into education programs. Funding our schools will continue strengthen our Students. It is our responsibility to Ensure quality education for Kansans.
Health Care continues to be one of my top priorities for our community. Access to affordable quality health and dental care services is critical, with eligibility limitations, strict income guidelines and the privatization of Medicaid. The expansion of Kan-Care is vital to the overall well being of the residents of the 89th District.
Access to affordable health insurance is vital in order to help combat the current health care crisis. With the risk of losing the preexisting health condition coverage stipulation, we must work together on various Wellness programs and educating citizens throughout the state.
With the wide range of current positions open in Sedgwick County, preparing the constituents through job training, re training, education and preparation is key and essential in optioning various positions open. We can further build out this plan by meeting with various small business owners, community organizations in conducting mock interviews and other vital classes which further aid in the citizens.
Public Safety is crucial regardless of income, location, race or religious background. It is important we provide first responders with proper resources to be able to effectively do their job in a timely manner.
It takes both Law Enforcement and Citizens working together for the overall safety of the community. Instead of using physical or deadly force, deescalating a situation is key, and can save the lives of both the officer and the citizen.
